When the culture around you claims you’re both too much and not enough…
When you’ve always worked so incredibly hard for everything you have…
When you’ve lived with less than what you want, always longing, yearning, starving…
When your cup is empty from reflexively accommodating, serving, care-taking, giving…
It feels normal to be hungry all the time.
It’s become part of your story. It’s familiar.
It’s what you know.
Notice if you’ve decided this is just how it is, how it will always be for you.
Pay attention to how that feels in your body.
Does it feel good? Uplifting? Exciting? True?
We tend to gravitate towards what we know. And what we know reinforces what we believe is possible.
Soon, we are in a self-fulfilling cycle of the status quo, not even realizing something else – something BETTER – even exists.
It might be obvious to others. But it might not be obvious to you.
Because if what you’ve experienced has always been less than… that is what you know.
Can you get curious?
Curious about what becomes possible if you break your normal pattern.
Curious about how someone else is doing it.
Curious about finding a different way.
Curious about how other people think about things.
Curious about trying something new.
There was a time in your young life when your number one question was WHY???
Curiosity is something you had as a kid. You wanted to understand how everything worked and why it worked that way.
Can you get curious again?
Can you get curious about the billions of different experiences and realities that are available to you?
About how many different ways of living there are?
About how many different responses you can elicit from others if you start to shift the energy you bring to a circumstance, the way you do things, or what you believe?
Flex your curiosity muscle. Ask questions. Observe those who have what you want.
This is your life. You are writing your story as you go.
If the story you’re living feels heavy, toxic, unsustainable, miserable, unsatisfying, or like it’s really not your own…
Get curious about what you could do or say or think differently.
Get curious about what else is possible.
Your curiosity is a key that will unlock new possibilities for you.
Start with curiosity and go from there.
