I’m back in my office, feeling grateful and refreshed after some time away from my computer and most things business related.
This is a summer of many transitions and changes for me. It’s felt so good to create space for myself to be deeply present with all that’s happening, to feel my feelings about it all, and to make clear and aligned decisions that reflect my heartfelt truths.
This is the ongoing nature of being true to yourself.
It requires us to check in with ourselves on a regular basis, listen to our discomfort and desire, stretch into new spaces, and upgrade, upgrade, upgrade as is needed!
I make this sound like this should come second nature to us, but that’s sadly not the case.
Change can often feel so difficult and intimidating that we resist it for far longer than is in our best interest. At other times, change is thrust upon us, and we have find the best ways to adapt.
Either way, all of this can be messy. But I think that’s because so often, things have to fall apart before they can come into greater alignment and wholeness.
As I begin to re-engage with my life from a fresh vantage point, with more honest eyes and an open, willing heart, I want to remind you of the importance of these 5 essential things:
1) Claiming time and space for yourself – for you and only you – to catch up with yourself
2) Lending a listening ear to your desires – what do you want now? Why do you want it?
3) Feeling into what feels true and right and aligned – not what anyone else is doing, or suggesting you do
4) Allowing your grief, rage, laughter and ecstasy to express, inform and move through you
5) Creating opportunities to step out of your comfort zone in favor of those things that make you feel more alive – audacity, excitement, delight and the joyfully spontaneous and unexpected
This is time well spent. In fact, granting yourself time and space for this is more valuable than gold.
Because it’s you, investing in you. It’s you choosing you. It’s you celebrating, honoring and cherishing you.
It’s time to normalize this kind of behavior – for ourselves, for those we love, and for the generations of women to come.
How will you love yourself more this summer? Simply respond below and let me know!
Lots of love,
Alicia
