I’ve entered into year 8 of my healing journey, and it kind of blows my mind.
I’ve come such a long way… and OMGOODNESS. It can take a long time for the physical body to come back from death.
*Trigger warning: In the next few sentences I share about what led to my body and health challenges. If you are easily upset by hearing about these kinds of things, please take care of yourself and skip reading until you see the blue spiral. 💗
After spending 4 days in the hospital enduring medical procedure after medical procedure, my kidneys and liver were failing, my body had gained 65lbs of water, and I hadn’t yet birthed my son. The emergency cesarean was nearly catastrophic for us both.
My body very nearly died. On a soul level I most certainly did die that day.
🌀
It’s taken many years, a lot of tenacity, and a lot of devotion to putting myself back together again. 🙏
This chapter of my life has taught me so much about…
• The core foundational things we need to do to care for our bodies 🌈
• How much our minds (and our culture) want to hurry healing and the body’s timeline
• The many things that can keep us stuck and what liberates us instead
• How to trust the wisdom of the body even when we don’t understand what’s happening
• What our beliefs and our boundaries have to do with healing 💪
My journey has been about much more than just healing my physical body.
It’s been a profound journey of coming home to myself and learning to honor my body and myself in ways I didn’t even know were possible before.
My own health journey has really fueled my passion for supporting other women through their unique body and health challenges.
Because I know what it takes to heal, and beyond healing, and I know what it takes to rebuild, celebrate, and trust life in the aftermath of it all.
After all I’ve seen and been through, I’m incredibly grateful every day for the renewed energy, health, and passion for life I now have. With the “extra” energy I have today, I’m currently exploring my longstanding desire to be an “artist” – whatever that means. 😂
I’ve been spending time in my home art studio playing with bright color and my imagination. It’s fun, and sometimes it still brings up the full spectrum of feels for me – because I’m doing something I used to only dream about doing. 🌈💗🎉
I have so many stories, insights, and invaluable tips to share with you – about how to navigate body challenges and health issues, but also how to honor, love, and value yourself more.
Because the two are interconnected in ways that might surprise you.
I hope you’ll stick around for all I have to share. If there is something you want to know about me, or something specific you’d like me to share about, please hit reply and let me know.
Thanks for reading my work. I’m so happy you’re here. 💗
Lots of love,
Alicia Signature

PS: Aside from the regular dedicated health practices that have become second nature to me, the biggest thing that has transformed my body and health challenges has been learning to honor myself. But honoring yourself IRL isn’t always what you think. If you want to know more about what I’m talking about, read my article here.
