You may be wondering why the element of luxury is so important in your personal and spiritual evolution journey – especially as it has been frowned upon, pushed away, and even seen as immoral for many hundreds of years.

Indeed, luxury is a highly charged topic for most women, simply because, even to this day, it’s most often regarded as frivolous, unnecessary and even a foolish form of self-indulgence.

But I’m here to tell you something different.

Redefining your relationship to Luxury is an incredibly powerful, liberating, life-affirming and self-loving act.

And my own personal relationship with luxury is still evolving – rapidly – as I understand the deeper levels at which this element affects my life, my degree of consciousness, and my value as a woman.
There are so many misconceptions about what luxury is, what luxury means, and what it can be.

Most of us have been taught that luxury is selfish, that it’s only available to a select few, and that luxury is enjoyed at the exclusion and detriment of others. It’s true, there are things in this world that are considered “luxury items” or “luxurious experiences”, and these things may indeed be exclusive, and even create compromising circumstances for certain people.

But that’s not what I’m talking about here. Instead I’m talking about Soulful Luxury – luxuries that have less to do with things, and more to do with a state of being that is influenced by and birthed from luxury itself.

When I think about what luxury means to me, I most often associate it with the “out-of-the-ordinary”, as well as a condition or situation, or even an object that creates or represents great comfort, ease and wealth.

Why are the “out-of-the-ordinary”, “comfort”, “ease” and “wealth” important? They matter because they elevate us by taking us out of our normal, well-worn routines and mindsets. They invite us into a place where we can experience something that is above and beyond our basic needs. They create the circumstances where we are more likely to rest, relax, receive, and step out of our chronically stressed, survival-mode way of living.

When we let go of striving and surviving, we effortlessly arrive in a place of thriving – because this is our natural state of being. At its core essence, thriving is where high levels of consciousness and awareness live. This is where our inspired ideas and Divine downloads can reach us, and where we can receive them.

Quite simply, this is where the magic happens.

Soulful Luxury is a redefined notion of what you might believe is possible for you when it comes to the level of quality in your life – quality things, quality relationships, quality environments, quality work… Your life, your work and how they look and feel are a direct reflection of what you believe is available to you today.

To what degree have you placed a cap, or a glass ceiling on what you think is appropriate, what you think you deserve, or what you think is acceptable when it comes to luxury in your life? And what does that self-imposed glass ceiling say about how you feel about your value and worth as a woman?

Do you have to earn it? Work harder? Or prove that you are worthy of luxury because you’ve struggled to deserve it?

How much do you let yourself receive? Be pampered and taken care of? Rest, rejuvenate and fill yourself up?

One woman’s definition and brand of luxury might look like a day at a 5-star spa with champagne and a hired driver and car to take her there in comfort and style, however, to another woman, her brand of luxury might look like a quiet, undisturbed hot bath away from the needs of her partner and children – time just for herself to do as she pleases, to rest, reawaken to herself and deeply replenish. Or, it could look like taking ten minutes to sit in the morning sun and really enjoy a cup of something dark and dreamy on her front porch. It could be a meaningful, heartfelt phone call to catch up with a dear friend.

Soulful Luxury is about bringing a new intention and awareness to the out-of-the-ordinary, and to allow that new level of appreciation, presence and connection with yourself and all of your senses deeply support you in being a thriving woman who loves being present, awake and alive in her life.
